Two Arrested with 14 kg of Gold at Tribhuvan International Airport

Kathmandu: Authorities at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Customs Office apprehended two individuals with 14 kilograms of gold on Thursday night.

Min Bahadur Ghale, a resident of Gorkha, and another individual arriving on Fly Dubai's FZ 573 flight were caught by a Customs Office squad. Ghale was found in possession of seven biscuit-shaped gold pieces concealed in clothing.

Ramesh Kunwar, Customs Officer, stated that the arrested individuals and the seized gold are currently under investigation. Ghale is currently held at the Koteswor Police Range and will be transferred to the TIA Office in Gaucharan for further inquiries.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, mentioned that another person was arrested based on information provided by Ghale. The investigation into the incident is underway.
